“La città come palcoscenico”, Milan

On 27 October, at the Fabbrica del Vapore (via Procaccini, 4 Milan), the multimedia installation “La città come palcoscenico” was inaugurated, curated by the students of the “photo, video and new media” and “technology of sound” of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

The event, created with the contribution of the Cariplo Foundation and the technical sponsorship of Dhs Event Solution, constitutes the perfect combination of art, photography and technology thanks to the fusion between the beauty and uniqueness of the photographic shots taken by the students of the Academy and the lighting and multimedia project created specifically to involve the viewer.

Starting from the work on photographs, the artistic coordinator of the course, Luca Scarzella, created a multimedia environment in which printed images – which portray musicians, dancers and actors immortalized in different corners of the city – coexist with video and sound spatialization.

The installation is made up of fifteen short chapters in succession, one for each image: it is the light that transforms the environment, isolating each single photograph on display which, once highlighted, is amplified with other images, sounds and videos.

Images, reflections, notes are then projected in another part of the room: all the material that generally belongs to the design process of which the chosen and printed photo is the final result.

“La città come palcoscenico” will be open to the public until November 12th.
