The city of Pescara was the capital of the international “Cartoons on the Bay” Festival, an event of national importance promoted and organized by the publisher Rai, in collaboration with Rai Fiction and with the contribution of Rai Cinema, dedicated to television animation, cinematographic and cross-media, founded in 1995 by Gianpaolo Sodano, who was its first president.

Its aim is to promote the activity of authors and producers from all over the world, offering an opportunity to meet with buyers, distributors and television managers.

In recent days, the new theme song, the new logo and the new presentation spot have been shown, which accompanied the entire festival and which contributed to spreading the message “animation has no borders“.

As always, there will be no shortage of the Pulcinella Awards, a great representation for over 44 countries, innovations such as the new “13+” category, aimed at teenagers and much more.

The event saw alternating characters, screenings and world premieres also present at the “Pulcinella Awards” awards ceremony, dedicated to international professionals from all over the world: this was the 26th edition of “Cartoons on the bay”.

Followed by the “iDOL” concert with Giorgio Vanni and Emanuela Pacotto, voices of the protagonists of the most important animated series broadcast in Italy.
