Nel segno di Francesco Merloni, Fabriano

Francesco Merloni was born on September 17, 1925. One hundred years after that day, the Aristide Merloni Foundation and Ariston Group organized the event “Nel segno di Francesco Merloni“, which, in the presence of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, celebrated his life through projects that continue his spirit and values.

The President of the Italian Republic, who closed the commemoration with his speech, expressed his gratitude for the work of Francesco Merloni: “Francesco Merloni’s vision, which turned the Ariston Group into a multinational company—as we heard—with brands known worldwide and factories in numerous countries, is exemplary of a modern business model far removed from protectionist and concentrated approaches, which has made Fabriano an archetype. Francesco Merloni’s Ariston Group confirms that competitiveness is not synonymous with industrial desertification and does not require delocalization. On the contrary, the local dimension, with the knowledge and people that accompany it—this is true for many inland areas where excellent industries operate—is one of the key components of success.”

The event “Nel segno di Francesco Merloni” took place at the Ariston Group plant in Albacina. The President of the Republic was joined by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Ministers Antonio Tajani and Guido Crosetto, and numerous local and national authorities. Alongside family and friends, over 2,500 guests—including institutions, representatives from the worlds of business, finance, and culture, customers, suppliers, and the group’s 1,500 employees in the Marche region—attended the event.

For the occasion, the factory was transformed into a large exhibition space, retracing the history of engineer Francesco Merloni, the Foundation, and the Ariston Group.

Over a hundred professionals contributed to the event’s success by overseeing the organizational and technical aspects. These included the technicians and staff of DHS Event Solution, who oversaw the complete production of the event and managed the impressive electrification, including audio, video, and lighting systems and LED walls.
